Historical Pan-Abode Plan

Every home has a story to tell and the story of your Pan-Abode cedar home is comprised of family, friends and loved ones, but also of your furnishings, heirlooms and memorabilia.

A historical plan offers a cornerstone from the past that will help you anchor the moment your home was built to the now. Many of our customers have ordered their plans and framed them to display proudly as an artifact on their walls and a memory of the legacy they built together.

For practical reasons these plans can be of great assistance if you’re performing renovations or additions to your Pan-Abode home, moving your cottage, looking to acquire any permits or making insurance claims. We also recommend using them as a starting point if you have purchased your log home from someone else and they have made made their own changes.

The Search Process

With the right information, we can try our best to track down old drawings for existing Pan-Abode homes.

The two most important info pieces for our search is the year of purchase and the last name of the original purchaser, as that is how the older paper records are organized. (If you are unsure if you have a Pan-Abode International original panabode or have incomplete information, please email us including photos to check. $100 will be non-refundable for unsuccessful searches.)

Please note, depending on the year, the drawings we find may be layouts and elevations only. This will provide detailed dimensions of walls/rooms, windows, doors, and archways and for the roof will have beams and pitch. Sometimes other information like sections, details and colour selections but usually those only show up in plans from this century. Foundation plans typically aren’t archived, and for moving/disassembly Pan-Abode projects you would need a new foundation plan anyways.

If we are able to find them in over 75 years of archives, we will have them professionally scanned in high-resolution PDF file so they are ready to be printed in large-format.
