A fabulous, floating Pan-Abode home based on our “Yosemite” model located right on the Fraser River in the Greater Vancouver Area – and is truly a wonderful testimonial to the degree of modification that can be done to our standard plans.
The owner wanted a very open look in her home – which she achieved by removing nearly all of the interior log walls on the main floor and most of the framed walls on the second floor. Support for the second floor was attained through beams hidden inside the first floor ceiling.
The main floor features two good-sized bay windows off the sitting and dining areas. There is a “ship’s galley” feel in the design of the kitchen, the massive island and the storage beneath the staircase.
This home perfectly showcases the effective mixing of drywall with Western Red Cedar to create a look that has a casual informality that is both welcoming and elegant. It is a home that, in every way, reflects the owner’s personality and eclectic tastes.
